We’ve unionized!

We’re excited to share that we’ve joined the Communications Workers of America (CWA) Local 7250!

As part of a union, we hope to gain stronger protections at work and solidify our ties to the labor movement. But wait, aren’t we a worker-owned cooperative? Why would we unionize if we’re already worker-owned?

Great question, hypothetical reader! We have been researching, meeting with organizers, attending talks and panels, and thinking about this for a while now. We found that union co-ops are definitely a thing and have an interesting history.

In future blog posts, we’re planning to write about our progress on collaboratively drafting our contract and about union co-ops in general, so look out for that 🙂
